Day 5: To "Ufenau" by boat, visit the island & relax.
Those who had already visited the island were free to spend the time at their own leisure. As the boat was scheduled at 11:30, they had enough time to get ready after breakfast. Daniela, who had previously visited "Ufenau", called M. Schneider and asked if he was at the "Mammut" museum as she would have questions regarding some of the objects found at the museum, and he said he was and would be glad to see her.

The island of "Ufenau" (Figures 18 and 19) is a monastery island and reachable only by boat in approximately 15min from Rapperswil. The island is with a surface of around 11ha one of the largest island in Switzerland and is since more than 1050 years in the possession of the monastery of Einsiedeln (UFENAU). The island is nowadays open to the public and is a popular place for seeking quietness and peace (Figure 19). It has just a small church and a restaurant (Figure 18). One can walk all around the island in about 45min.

During this time Daniela and Matthias Schneider met at the museum. He provided her with the information she needed. After a couple of hours she was ready to leave, Matthias suggested that, as he had nothing keeping him back at the museum, he would like to invite her for a coffee in the café "Tübli" in Dielsdorf (Figure 20).

Matthias and Daniela found out that both had studied at the University of Zürich that they both graduated the same year but at different departments. They talked about their studies and about what they planned to start up for their future carrier. Time flew fast and Daniela realized it was time for her to leave to catch the train. The S15 departed on time at 16:44, Daniela settled in her window seat and was happy that the train was not too full considering that it was getting close to rush hour. She enjoyed the drive, today with a clear blue sky and had a marvelous view to the Glarus Alps and the Central Swiss Alps. She even could recognize some peaks, such as, "Uri Rotstock" (2929m a.s.l.), "Bristen" (3073m a.s.l.), "Gr. Windgällen" (3187m a.s.l.), "Clariden" (3267m a.s.l.) and "Vrenelisgärtli" (2905m a.s.l.)
(Figure 21).

Finally, she reached Rapperswil and went straight after arrival to Mc Donald's where the others were waiting for her to join them. After dinner they went back to the hotel and gathered together to discuss the program for the next day.
